August 1st Fashion Parade: Get the Look: Lucille Ball

Arguably the most beloved television star of all time, Lucille Ball started out as a model (for Hattie Carnegie no less) and B movie actress in the 1930s. In 1951 came I Love Lucy, stardom, and the very successful television company Desilu, run by Lucy and her husband Desi Arnaz. Lucy's show was a smash hit, original in many ways, and still seen in syndication around the world. Ball appeared more often than any other person on the cover of TV Guide. She was counted among Time magazine's 100 Most Important People of the Century.

Always well dressed in her very long career, Lucy is most widely known now for her clothes on I Love Lucy, 1951-57. Her printed full-skirt dresses, pumps and of course her curly red hair made her the most stylish housewife of all time, and a true fashion icon.
