Fresh Vintage July 21 to August 3

This is a two week edition of **Fresh Vintage**, the weekly VFG forum "Sneak Preview" thread where vintage fashion lovers gather to enjoy a look at the latest offerings from a variety of VFG's trade members.

Let's start with a fabulous 40s Lilly Dache assymetrical fedora, offered by Alley Cats

Vintage Baubles recently listed this cute 60s mod dress by Toni Todd

If you're after a 40s pinup look, you'll want to check out this red hot 1940s swimsuit, available from Miss Proper

Boncly listed this fabulous pin and earrings set by Matisse less than two weeks ago and a savvy buyer has already snapped them up - it clearly pays to drop by the Fresh thread as it's ongoing every week! Ah well, we cam still admire them here.

When brides start their search for a vintage wedding gown, a dress like this is often their Holy Grail: 1950s, strapless, petal bust, dramatic ballgown skirt.  It exists and it was recently listed at Mags Rags

And I'm going to close this post with another amazing 40s fedora, this one by Borsalino and listed at Rue de la Paix

That's all for today, here on the blog at least. If you'd like to get a head start on next week's post, come on over the the VFG forum to check out all the new goodies in this week's thread.

*Fresh Vintage* January 13 - 27

Every week VFG trade members offer a sneak pick at their newest (and most fabulous) listings. I've gotten a bit behind, so this will combine two weeks worth of Freshness into one blog post.

Tangerine Boutique recently listed this 1950s red tulle gown, perfect for a Valentines ball.

Next up, a 1920s child's cloche hat and unworn laceup child's high top shoes, sold separately at Another Time's Artfire studio, BettesBargains

MetroRetroVintage is offering this charming 30s football pin, made of wood and bakelite.

This sweet striped silk blouse is also from the 1930s and can be found at Circa Vintage's new website

Another Valentines day possibility is this cute 1960s mod zipfront dress from VintageFray

And another wonderful vintage hat, this emerald green 1940s slouch hat, a new find at Alley Cats Vintage

As always, there's more great new vintage on display every day at the Vintage Fashion Guild forums. Drop by and check it out!

Interview with 1960s Designer Deanna Littell

I've long been a fan of the design work of Deanna Littell, and so I was so pleased when she commented on a post at The Vintage Traveler several months ago. She had found the webpage where I've been collecting Young Designer Butterick patterns, including those of Deanna.

Deanna is probably best known as one of the original designers for the 1960s New York boutique, Paraphernalia. Along with fellow designers Betsey Johnson and Joel Schumacher she helped to establish the "Youthquake" of Great Britian here in the States.

The read the interview, visit The Vintage Traveler.

September 13th Fashion Parade *Get the Look: Twiggy*

Supermodel Twiggy was the ultimate young 60s style icon with her androgynous looks, huge eyes (complete with layers of false eyelashes) and thin build. Her short hair and short dresses took the world by storm—Twiggy was one of Swinging London's greatest phenoms.
